Abstract


The aim of this thesis is to analyze the problems existing in China’s present industrial structure, and by pointing out how China’s economic development has been restricted by these problems, to emphasize the necessity and urgency of industrial structure adjustment, to indicate the direction and principles of this new round of industrial structure adjustment, and to put forward the workable countermeasures of the adjustment. In this thesis, it is pointed out that a couple of problems existing in China’s present industrial structure, such as the inappropriate structural proportion of the three industries within GDP, the own inadequate development of the three industries, and the unclear role of the dominant industries, etc. have greatly restricted China’s economic development by bringing bad effects to the speed, quality and potentiality of the economic development. Faced by the new challenges and opportunities in the 21St century and under the new circumstances, the industrial structure adjustment is undoubtedly imperative in order to solve the existing problems to ensure the steady, healthy and fast development of China’s economy. This new round of adjustment must adhere to the direction and principles of industrial structure adjustment, which has been stipulated by Chinese Communist Party 15 National Delegates Convention. Steps of adjustment may be taken in the following aspects: controlling the excessive development of the lit industry while expediting the development of the 3~?industry; promoting the reasonable flowage and efficient collocation of social resources; accelerating the technical advancement of industries; etc. This thesis mainly consists of four parts: the first part is about the historic phases of China’s industrial structure changes and the current situations; the second part is about the existing problems in the present industrial structure; the third part is about the restriction of further economic development which has been brought by the existing problems in the industrial structure, and is about the necessity and urgency of solving these problems; the fourth part is about the countermeasures of industrial structure adjustment.
