Abstract


Mid- 1960s to the late 1990s , Indonesia is the implementation of authoritarian politics in a typical East Asian countries . Under the rule of President Suharto , Indonesia 's GDP and many other East Asian countries to maintain long-term growth , but in the 1997 East Asian financial crisis, only Indonesia into a long-term political , economic and overall social unrest being . In this particular case of Indonesia , Suharto's authoritarian politics over how to understand the process of economic modernization in Indonesia, it plays what role ? Article tries to implement through a detailed analysis of Suharto 's authoritarian politics and under the auspices of economic modernization , to answer these questions.
