Abstract


The Olympic Games is the most important sporting events in the world. It provides a good opportunity for the host country to show its national power to the other countries. As the fixed communication partner of 29th Beijing Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, CNC provided high quality and professional service and product of telephone, fax, internet access, as well as broadcasting, international satellite, cable transmission and so on.The construction of Olympic stadium’s fixed communication is a very complicated project. This project has a great responsibility and limited time. As the venue which host the opening and closing ceremonies, the National Stadium is to focus on the highest, the greatest impact, and the highest level of communications support venue. As the fixed communication partner, CNC must provide a high quality and efficiency communication network and corresponding personnel security team which could meet the series needs from the Olympic Organizing Committee, media, venue owners and other parties to the athlete in a limited time. The use of project management is the key to the success of this project. Time management is the core of project management and it’s playing a vital role in the construction of National Stadium’s fixed communication project.In this paper, the author described her experience of working as a venue manager of fixed communications in the National Stadium during the 29th Beijing Olympic Games and the Paralympics Games. This paper based on the basic principle of project management. It discusses the important of using project management in the construction of fixed communication by the example of National stadium. In addition, this paper proof the importance of using time management and tools of progress control in this project’s success.
