Abstract


Project management is originated in the 1960s of the 20th century, developed quickly in the 1970s, and became mature in the 1980s, spreaded rapidly with the advance in information technology in the 1990s. Project management makes full use of the organizational resources available, and adopts agile and concrete methods to achieve its aim. Now it has become one of popular managing approaches applied in all kinds of trades and professions. Project appraisement is a part of project management, which is to improve the level of project management and service for the result of project building. It promotes project team members to improve their skills by estimating and analysis efficiency, cost, defects in the process of implementing project. That will help gain more benefits.Compared to project management research, the development of project appraisement is very weak. The current research is focused in the project finance. But the quality of project building process can influence the achievement of financial aim directly. Therefore it’s necessary to research and evaluate the process of project building, by gathering processing data, offering the appraise indexes for the project. The satisfied result can be achieved by controlling the elements of the project process.Computer software started about 20 years ago in china, most of the domestic software corporations can only supply customization software (or industries software solution) instead of operation system or flat software. Almost all the software enterprises manage their business with the mode of project management. The writer has experienced and witnessed hundreds of software projects in the over 8 years experience of project management. In this article, the writer uses earned value analysis to software project appraisement, and explains the steps and method in detail.
