Abstract

In conducting polymers, besides singly-charged polarons, doubly-charged bipolarons are also carriers. Positive and negative bipolarons can attract each other to form a biexciton, which is spinless and emissive. Since this bipolaron channel does not involve triplet excitons, its electroluminescence efficiency is much higher than that of the polaron-exciton channel. The dynamical evolutions and transition probabilities of this bipolaron luminescence channel are studied in this paper. This thesis consists of four chapters. In the first chapter, we presented the discovery of conductive polymers and their structures, highlighting the conductance and Peierls phase transition of the one-dimensional system, and finally introduces the mechanism of the conductive polymer and our research motivation. In the second chapter, we introduce the theoretical basis for the study, including the Hamiltonians of the degenerate ground state of the polymer and the non-degenerate ground state of the polymer and methods for solving them.In the third chapter, we introduced the history of OLED, its emitting mechanism, and the content our study:the bipolaron channel. Details of this channel and the configuration of the dynamic evolutions and transition probabilities of bipolaron luminescence channel. In the fourth chapter, summary and describes the situation of published papers and acknowledgements
