In this paper, starting from the concept of poverty, to clarify the different periods and different regions of Vietnam implemented different standard of poverty, the Vietnamese contemporary poverty in different historical periods for a more detailed grooming, specific causes of poverty analysis; near Vietnam poverty reduction over the past decade were reviewed, Vietnam proved effective anti-poverty work, world attention, Vietnam in food production, people's average life expectancy, infant mortality, primary education coverage, safe water and medical conditions, and other conditions are great changes have taken place.
