Abstract


The new teacher induction program is one of the programs which developed rapidly in America in 1980s. Till 1990s, the program has become the most popular teacher education reform measures. According to statistics,34 states of America have legislated to confirm this program in 1992. At first, the most direct purpose is to provide support and assistance for some new teachers. For that, they can reduce frustration and loneliness during the transition period. And at the same time, the new teacher induction can reduce the rate of the new teacher outflow and stable teachers’ groups. Now, it has become a logical extension on teacher education. It has become an integral part of the professional development of teachers. It has become a powerful measure of teacher education reform.The new teacher induction of America has a clear target and rich content. Its security system is perfect. The agencies have close cooperation. Which are all promote new teacher professional development. This article is to provide useful advice and inspiration for the development of our own new teacher induction by analyzing the new teacher induction of America.The whole thesis is divided into five parts. At the beginning, it is the introduction. It includes proposing issues, the significance, status and methods. The main body consists of five parts.The first part discusses the theoretical basis of American scholars and focuses on the history and reform of American new teacher induction training.The second part is the major part of the article. It includes five parts about the new teacher induction training. They are content, structure, objectives, support systems and evaluation.The third part is the practice and case study on American new teacher induction.The forth part summarizes the analysis above and describes the revelation of American new teacher induction for us.
