Abstract

Education is an important symbol of the progress of human civilization, is an important driving force for socio-economic development. With the knowledge economical time comes into, the future of human and the country’s prosperity rely on the education than any time. Regarding the country and the nationality, the education relates to the enhancement of the entire national quality, and also relates the development of the Politics, economy, culture and society. Regarding individual, education can decide whether a person who surviving in his society learns the basic skills, whether he enjoys the civilized achievement in modern society, whether he improves own quality of life.In China, coordinated development of education has a role in boosting on the regional economy, increased education’s investment, the continuous development of education has also become the fundamental demands of economic development. The educational importance in economic development and direct services in social and economic had made functions of education and economic changed from the abstract theory of analogy to econometric empirical analysis. However, the uneven development is China’s basic national conditions, the education funding in different parts is different, the education level of development is also different. How much about the pulling effect of education on the regional economy exactly. Is it the same to investment in education, the development of education in promoting economic growth in China’s uneven development between regions? And the number of gap on the role in promoting contribution to economic development compared to the national average. These are yet to be explored and urgent problem. The other hand, promoting each other, mutual checks and balances exists between education and economic development, but this relationship for each transmission link is not always necessarily coordinated, outstanding performance on the level of development vary in eastern, central and western regions of China. How to grasp and calculation the transmission link between education and economic, how empirical on different regions of China whether to coordinated development and how oblique to weak local with allocation of resources, these are theoretical and practical issues we faced.Firstly, this article has combed on the economic theory of education and literature, and descriptive analysis on China’s level of education, including investment in education and educational development. And then for the education role in boosting regional economic growth, we use of panel data model to estimate in the country and our east, the western region. At last, we have come to the contribution coefficient of education on economic growth between different regions. Compared with the national, eastern region, central and western regions have different sizes of stimulating role to economic growth. Various regions are slightly different.Education and economic growth has the mutual restraint and the coordinated development. From economic growth to increase educational input and then to improve the level of education so as to further promote economic growth, any unreasonable will lead to the development of uncoordinated. Therefore, in the coordinated development of relations between regional education and economic, this article first proposed three propositions based on the transfer between education and economic, and build a panel data model according to each proposition. We empirical analysis on related to the issue of education and economic growth in three regions of China’s31provinces, finding that China’s educational and economic coordination are different and vary greatly in the three regions of eastern, central and western. Among them, the relationship between the level of investment in education and educational development is not obvious in the eastern region. Central and western regions in the education economy transfer link performance for two aspects of the irrational.
