As a skeleton-compact of the structure and large voids of porous asphaltpavement,Porous Asphalt Pavement can provides a good skid resistance,good drainage andlow-noise function,and it can ensure traffic safety by reduce the mist in driving.So, more andmore porous asphalt pavement applies to highways and urban arterial roads in rain region inour country over the past decades. Although porous asphalt mixture’s performance of theresistance to water damage meet the current regulatory requirements in the early construction,but still appears the phenomenon of Early Water-caused Damage which include mixes offgrains and loose and pavement Pit, therefore, it’s necessary to research the evaluation of thewhole-term water stability of porous asphalt pavement deeply that in order to evaluate theperformance of porous asphalt mixture’s resistance to water damagecorrectly.Firstly, this paper start with the requirements of current norms on water stability of theasphalt mixture, obtain the performance of the porous asphalt mixture which applied in thispaperthat resistance to water damagecomply with current regulatory requirements.Secondly, on the basis of reference to various domestic and international literature,analyzethe aging mechanism of the TPS modified high viscosity asphalt which divided intoTPS and asphalt by the mechanism of thermal-oxidative aging and light-oxidative aging.Through the short term aging and long-term aging test to simulate the asphalt’s whole processof aging, get the whole term variation of its index. And research the correlation betweenasphalt’s aging and water stability of asphalt pavement, we get road water damage can beinduced by asphalt aging earlier and water can promote aging of the asphalt mixture.Thirdly, summarize and analyze test methods and evaluation index of water stability andshort term aging test and long term aging test of asphalt mixture, obtain the advantages anddisadvantages and applicability, then evaluate the typical12kinds of test methods of waterstability by the very system score. On this basis, put forward porous asphalt mixture of shortand long term aging test method, freeze-thaw cycle test methods and evaluation system of thestability of the entire water: evaluation index, evaluation criteria, rating standards and testmethods.Finally, consider the two variables of the aging of the mixture and the degree of waterdamage, longterm aging and multiple freeze-thaw cycle was used instead of the two variableswhich were in level of0-5six changes,Application with a comprehensive method, researchasphalt mixture’s resistance to water damage by splitting Test, the mixture’s resistance towater damage with the deepening of the degree of aging was decreased after increasing the peak in the longterm aging2d; higher the level of the mixture has suffered water damage, thesmaller the resistance to water damage. And evaluate the water stability of OGFC-13byporous asphaltmixture water stability evaluation system which proposed in this paper, fromthe experimental results can be intuitively predict the water damage occurred.
