From the perspective of Construction Grammar theory built on the grounding ofFrame Semantics and Cognitive Science, this paper parses and explains the constructionLián sentence and its component parts on syntax, semantics, pragmatics and functions soas to explore the overall functional characteristics of the construction Lián sentence. The theoretical standing point of this paper is that Li á n sentence is aconstruction—a form-meaning pair such that some aspect of its form or some aspect ofits meaning is not strictly predictable from its components or the knowledge of otherconstructions existing in the grammar. First, the article analyzes its components one byone and comes to a conclusion: the hierarchy of the construction Lián sentence is Lián︱X Dou/Ye/Hai Y. Lián is an omissible modal adverb making subjective comments on thewhole part behind. Dou/Ye/Hai is read softly and not omissible. X is a logical stress; Xand Y are the mainly meaningful components of the construction.Meanwhile, the article investigates and analyzes three adverbs Dou, Ye, Hai and theiraffirmative and negative usage in Lián sentence with the statistical method, thenconcludes the trend of its evolution as follows: The usage proportions of Dou and Yebasically level out, the usage of Hai is still small; the negative usage is obviously higherthan the affirmative one. Then the paper analyzes the multiple inheritance mechanism with overriding of theverb copying Lián-clause with the Construction Procedural Analysis Frame of Wang Yin(2008), and pointes out it inherits from the information of three constructions at least: Lián construction, Verb-resultant construction and Verb-object construction. On the basis of the detailed analysis of the syntactic environment of the constructionLián sentence, the article also parses the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features of theoverall construction with the Construction Procedural Analysis Frame. With theconceptual blending theory based on cognitive science, it then studies the meaningformation mechanism of the construction Lián sentence from microcosmic aspect anddraws a conclusion that the construction Lián sentence is a newly created structure andmeaning which blends the ultra-literal meaning of multi-language information within themultidimensional space..Finally, the paper analyzes the polysemy phenomenon of Lián sentence with therelevance theory and integration icon and reveals the reason of the polysemy is improperrelevance. In addition, it also interprets the different inferior information related to thedifferent blending background information.
