Abstract

Objective : To study the serum of patients with gastric cancer and tissue LI-cadherin (liver-intestine) and CDX-2 (caudal-related homeodomain transcription 2) expression and its clinical significance , as both as a new tumor marker in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer etc. to provide some experimental and theoretical basis . Methods: Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique was measured 48 cases of gastric cancer patients with LI-cadherin and CDX-2 concentrations , and with 29 normal control sera for comparison ; while SP immunohistochemical technique using semi-quantitative determination of this 48 cases of gastric cancer foci LI-cadherin and CDX-2 expression levels , and serum LI-cadherin and CDX-2 content than the results : patients with gastric cancer and normal serum could be detected mountain LI-cadherin and CDX-2. Gastric serum LI-cadherin and CDX-2 expression was significantly higher than the control group , with significant difference (P lt; 0.001 / P lt; 0.001); LI-cadherin expression and tumor differentiation (P lt; 0.001 ), Lauren's classification (P lt; 0.01) are closely related ; CDX-2 expression in gastric Lauren's classification (P lt; 0.05), lymph node metastasis (P lt; 0.05), cell differentiation degree (P lt; 0.001) ; and both serum content was determined by the level of its expression in gastric carcinoma were positively correlated (P lt; 0.001); serum LI-cadherin levels and serum CDX-2 content was only related (P lt; 0.001); LI-cadherin or CDX- 2 after surgery and chemotherapy, preoperative serum levels compared to no significant difference (P gt; 0.05). Conclusion: Serum LI-cadherin expression levels only cancer cells and tumor differentiation and typing on , high serum LI-cadherin expression suggesting that tumor cells differentiated in intestinal type gastric cancer , LI-cadherin were significantly higher than the diffuse type gastric cancer ; CDX-2 expression levels in serum and tumor differentiation, lymph node metastasis, cancer classification related to serum CDX-2 in well-differentiated tumor cells and intestinal-type gastric cancer , were higher than poorly differentiated tumor cells and diffuse-type gastric cancer , while its expression correlated with lymph node metastasis in inverse proportion to the high CDX-2 protein expression in gastric cancer have a lower invasion ; serum LI-cadherin and CDX-2 expression in gastric carcinoma and its contents were positively correlated , both of which can reflect in gastric carcinoma expression level ; clinical treatment can not change serum LI-cadherin and CDX-2 level, for an unknown reason .
