Abstract


Musicals was born in the late19th century and early20th century, rose rapidly in Europe and theUnited States in the1920s. With the further implementation of China’s reform and opening-up policy andpush, the musical--this kind of new art forms was introduced into our country from the west since the1980s. While the rapid development of China’s economy, the living standards of the people has also beenimproved to a large extent, a single model of art form can not meet the aesthetic orientation of the masses.Gradually, many people are more willing to choose to return to the theater and experience a new immersiveexperience brought by the true impact of live performance arts. Only an audio-visual sensory striking artform can meet the audience’s such aesthetic psychological needs. And this musical art form was in linewith the objective needs of this market. But if China’s original musical is just a full copy of all the words asthe model of Western musical, in fact, it does not meet the aesthetic needs of the Chinese audience.In2006, a large-scale musical composing“The Story of Guilin” is on show in Nanning. It is the firstnative original musical of Guangxi, directed and written by Guangxi famous writer Zhang Rensheng,composed by Qing Fu the late composer in Guangxi. The originators of the musical pour the Guangxi localnational culture into which, as one set of integrating regional resources advantage, highlight the nationalcharacteristics and the social hot spots. This musical reveals the life philosophy, reflected the social reality,which is a genuine Chinese musical style. The play used a variety of traditional art forms, learned foreignmusical performance means, succeeded in the combination of Guangxi folk music, dance, traditionalculture and aesthetic, which is not only on the musical history of Guangxi milestone, but also the localcultural consciousness landmark event in Guangxi, promoting the development of local musicals inGuangxi.The main musical expression lies in the music itself, and each role’s singing in the musical concerts isthe key to the success of the actors portrayed the manifestation. Actor’s singing tone in the use, handlingand emotional songs artistic expression is indivisible with the identity and the characters, personalities,ideas. And the actors’ singing level of the play, the characters extrinsic and intrinsic ability to controlcharacters on stage will give the role a new meaning once again. The author I participated in the "Guilinstory" all fifteen performances in the first edition and acted as Manmei—an important role in the play whocan touch people’s hearts mostly as the most artistic image in the play. I tried to link the practicalexperience and theory together, combined with the plot and characters of mind, took Manmei in-depthanalysis of the image of the theater, music, image, and their singing and playing the character in the processfor the first time. Discussing the issues should pay attention to in multi-aspects ways, I tried to further reveal the characters emotions and ideological connotations, and summarize the characters’ shaping inorder to provide certain psychological path and singing tone for vocal music learners play characters.This paper is divided into four parts. Introduction part article discusses the purpose and significance ofthe study of the play. The second part is the musical "Guilin Story" introduction to the general situation andthe simple analysis of Manmei for a general understanding in the play. The third part is the author ofpractice, conducting Manmie’s singing detailed in-depth analysis. Through analysis, the artistic images ofManmei have a more comprehensive and clear show. This part is the key of the text, the main interpretationof Manmei’s singing lines from the articulation chamber, emotional expression, singing performances inthree areas.The fourth part is a summary of the full text of the study.
