Abstract

Objective To detect the expression and clinical significance of inhibitors of DNA binding-1 (ID-1) protein and vascular epithelial growth factor in human cervical cancer. Methods 24 cases with cervical dysplasia,45 cases with cervical cancer,20 cases with normal cervical tissue were exerted to detect the expressions of ID-1 and VEGF through immunohistorchemistry. Results The density of expression of ID-1 in normal cervical epithelium, dysplasia, cervical cancer, the positive expression rates were 20%,58.3% and 68.9%, and statistically significant (χ2=7.889, P=0.019); Low degree of differentiation in cervical cancer is positive expression of ID-1 higher than the high degree of differentiation in high, medium and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma rates were 55.6%、66.7%、76.2%, more differences statistically significant (χ2=8.986, P=0.011); with the increase of clinical stage, ID-1 expression increased, the period ofⅠ-Ⅱa is 65.4%,the period ofⅡb-IV is 73.7%; VEGF-C in normal cervical epithelium, dysplasia, cervical cancer and positive expression rates are increased, respectively,35%、50%、66.7% and with the ID-1 correlated (H=62.34, r=0.748, P<0.01).Conclusions DNA binding-1 (ID-1) protein showed high expression in cervical cancer and promote the formation of vascular and the ability of metastasis in cancer cells. The expression of DNA binding-1 (ID-1) protein is increased in cervical cancer, and with the VEGF-C expression was positively correlated, suggesting that ID-1 protein may play an important role by promoting expression of VEGF-C in the development of cervical cancer.
