Abstract

In recent years, when the schema theory is applied to teaching after the hearing , listening comprehension for second language acquisition research has become a hot topic in the field . Based on schema theory , more and more researchers believe that listening comprehension is the listener's language knowledge , background knowledge and external information interaction. In this one , the background knowledge in the process of listening comprehension plays an important role, and discourse familiarity is an important indicator of background knowledge . However, more emphasis on domestic research background knowledge on the performance of the overall impact of hearing , and rarely pay attention to the background knowledge on the listening comprehension of information processing . While the current study also ignored the background knowledge on listening comprehension of English language proficiency will vary with the change . Therefore, this thesis through listening experiments and survey research familiarity of discourse and language levels on Chinese EFL Listening Comprehension , professional English learners to reveal the cognitive process of listening comprehension . Shandong University School of Foreign Languages ??English sophomore 108 students participated in the experiment , all students complete a hearing by the five -part hearing tests , articles topic familiarity questionnaire survey and listening comprehension . All experimental results using quantitative and qualitative analysis method to analyze language level and topic familiarity of their listening comprehension . Experimental results show that the level of discourse and language familiarity of English majors have a significant impact on listening comprehension . In the same language level, on topics familiar to students to get better results , and in the same familiar on the topic in the case , the language relatively high level of student achievement better . Two factors , the topic familiarity showed more major impact, while there is interaction between the two factors . Survey results once again confirms the familiar topics of English majors' listening comprehension promote. Based on results of this study for English Listening made ??some specific suggestions and methods . English learners should be given sufficient background knowledge of the attention , it should be to improve the overall level of English to promote improvement of hearing , moreover , the interactive information processing model should be taken seriously .
