Abstract


China's financial system, the banking sector is the mainstay of economic development in a key position , capital regulation policy changes will directly affect the credit scale and China's investment driven economic growth. This paper aims to study capital regulation , bank credit and the relationship between economic growth . People's Bank of China first announced in 1993 the capital adequacy ratio calculation standards, and incorporate them into the scope of monitoring ; 2004 China Banking Regulatory Commission promulgated the \capital regulation . Country in 2004 before capital regulatory regime due to national policies, the impact of state-owned banking system did not play its due role in the regulation , banks accumulated a large number of non-performing loans , a lower level of capital adequacy ratio . Commercial bank lending largely unaffected by the capital adequacy requirements of the restrictions , the main subject deposit growth rate. China's commercial banks' capital adequacy ratio of capital in the implementation of a formal regulatory system has been greatly improved after , accompanying the growth rate is the decline in bank credit , regulatory capital constraint effect gradually . On China's macroeconomic data empirical studies suggest that growth in bank credit to the economy 's long-term elasticity coefficient of 2.5390 ; deposits and money supply mainly short-term growth of the economy play a catalytic role in the short term elasticity coefficients were -0.1389 and 0.4351 , their long-term growth effect is not obvious. Impulse response function analysis shows that bank credit in the beginning of the economic impact is small, this effect over time gradually increases , eventually stabilize at a level of around 4% of the money supply in the short term with a positive economic facilitating role.
