Abstract


“Oedipus complex”is one of the core concepts of psychoanalysis. It was proposed by Freud in the early 20th century, and, since then, it has always been a hot topic in academic circles, especially in the field of literature and art. But, the existing situation is that researches on“Oedipus complex”is too much poor than it should be, meanwhile, there are still many controversies waiting to be resolved. Therefore, this paper tries to make it a more detailed comb and analysis about the connotation of“Oedipus complex”, the theoretical development, the related controversy and the applications to make up this deficiency from the perspective of literary aesthetics. Oedipus complex has very important value. It is mainly manifested in such three aspects: The theme of the literary works; Psychological factors of literary and artistic creation; emotional communication in the process of literary appreciation. A deep understanding of these values should be based on a profound and comprehensive knowledge of the theory of the Oedipus complex, including the theory of the unconscious, personality structure, the sexual libido and early childhood sexuality. Only in this premise, Theory of the Oedipus complex can be enriched and improved continuously. Meanwhile, the theory of the Oedipus complex for discussion and questions cannot be ignored. Overall, the focus of debate is the escape from social factors. For example, in view of the its rationality, universality, extensive sex color and male consciousness etc discussion. Critics argue that the biological basis of the Oedipus complex resulting in culture, environment, family and personal experience of human behavior and factors such as psychological effect was neglected. However, although suffered numerous abuses, psychology, psychopathology, psychoanalysis, aesthetics, anthropology and sociology and many other areas is difficult to avoid it, and in many disciplines of research and curriculum development process, the Oedipus complex theory have played a very Great inspiration. Meanwhile, the Oedipus complex to dig deep human psychological and childhood experience, which makes it play incomparable advantages in the field of literary criticism. Inspired by the Oedipus complex, not only many classic literary works have been re-released, a number of new literary works constantly to be included under the care of this theory. In short, because of the Oedipus complex theory have made outstanding contributions in the interpretation of the theme of literary works and explore the artist’s psychological aspects, literary and art criticism can be opened up a new road. Admittedly, academic research on the theory of Oedipus complex research has achieved many results, but still exist deficiencies. Mainly displays in the depth of basic research are not enough and literary criticism object is relative concentration. Especially domestic scholars’ research, compared to the achievements of foreign scholars, there is still a long way to go. This situation arises because of two main reasons: On the one hand, compared with the West, Chinese scholars study actively Freud is later than western scholars. So, there is still much room for development in the breadth and depth. On the other hand, five thousand years of Confucian culture on Chinese thought has to educate the deep-rooted, and thus understanding of Oedipus complex is inevitable deviations. Therefore, no matter in terms of subjective reasons or from the objective conditions, there is a great scalability in Research of the Oedipus complex theory.
