Abstract


Objective To investigate calreticulin (Calreticulin, CRT) expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological parameters and provide a valuable basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment . The method in this study using immunohistochemical methods CRT levels in 46 surgically resected esophageal squamous cell carcinoma , and the same in patients with cancer and adjacent normal esophageal tissue and analysis of CRT histological grade , depth of invasion , lymph node metastasis . CRT in cytoplasmic staining of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma showed mostly strong positive in adjacent normal esophageal tissue cytoplasm mostly negative CRT in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and normal paraneoplastic esophageal tissue , high expression rates were 69.6 % ( 32 / 46 ) , 0% ( 0 / 46 ) , the difference was meaningful (P lt; 0.01). CRT expression and depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis related (P lt; 0.05), and histological grade (P gt; 0.05) . Conclusion CRT molecules in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma compared with paraneoplastic normal esophageal tissue high expression , affecting the development of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma . CRT high expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma tumor tissue , suggesting that it may assist in the diagnosis of the tumor as a new tumor marker . The CRT high expression of the depth of invasion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and lymph node metastasis , and play an important role in tumor invasion and metastasis .
