According to the fifth census, China has entered the aging era since 2000. China old-age association forecasted that it is an aging 100 years, for China, in the whole 21st century. The aging degree in Yangtze delta (Changjiang delta) is the worst in China. Though there are identical characters and effects between the Yangtze delta and the whole China, the speed and degree of the aging in Yangtze delta is faster and worse than those of China. Aging will bring on economic and social extensive and far-reaching effects. Yangtze delta is a very important economic growth pole in China, So, it has important significance to research in the aging of this area.In the first chapter, some important concepts are introduced, such as:aging population, dependency ratio, total fertility rate, important and related population theories are also briefly introduced in this chapter, such as the theories of demographic dividends, demographic transition and population economics theories of classical political economy, of Thomas Malthus, Karl Marx, John Maynard Keynes, Alfred Sauvy, Julian Lincoln Simon and Franco Modigliani etc. Empirical analysis to the theories of population economics is also introduced.In the second chapter, the region of Yangtze delta is defined. Then, the characteristics and reasons are analyzed. The dual factors, demographic transition and family planning policy, which lead to aging population of Yangtze Delta are analyzed in this chapter.In the third Chapter, the economic effects of aging in Yangtze delta are analyzed. The economic effects of ageing are as follows:firstly, the demographic dividend will decline, even to population losses; secondly, labor force will become senile scantly and inefficient;thirdly, the aging population will bring heavy medical problem;fourthly, aging lead to saving up in the early phase of ageing and down in the late phase; fifthly, aging will affect the consumption structure;sixthly, aging can also affect the industrial structure.Measures to the effects of ageing are proposed in the fourth chapter. Firstly, the style of economic growth should be changed; Secondly, family planning policy should be adjusted; thirdly, demographic dividend should be made full used of and be empoldered; fourthly, the social security system should be perfected;lastly household registration system should be reformed.In the fifthly chapter, the reasons effects and measures of ageing in Yangtze delta are summarized. Analysis to Ageing population in Changjiang Delta are briefly expanded to the whole China and the world, with the hope of attracting more people (especially experts of population policy decision-making), and do something of preparation as soon as possible, as the old saying goes, save for a rainy day.Finally, the latest population data (Of 2010 and 2011) of China and the world are collected in the last chapter.
