Abstract


With the sustainable development of world economy and increasingly fine division of social work, logistics industry has gradually become“the third profit headspring”after materials and manpower, modern logistics is considered to be“accelerator”of the economic development, the development of a country and regional level as a measure of the degree of modernization and one of the major hallmarks of the compound national strength,playing an important role in optimization of industrial structure, integration of material resource, increasing of job opportunities, improvement of investment environment and promotion of sustainable development, so it has aroused extensive concern in the society.In the recent years, logistics become more and ore important in the society and the impact of logistics on the economy has gained more and more attention by the government and the researchers. On the basis of reading and analyzing associated documents, the writer took the relationship between modern logistics and economic growth as paramount, explored the supportive function of modern logistics on regional economy.This paper not only analyzed the supportive function of modern logistics on regional economy conceptually, but also did empirical research on the Hunan data of 1982-2006,at the same time, choosing four elements that is of great influence on Regional logistics development as variables, using ADF test, Johansen test, Vector error correction model, Impulse responses and Variance decomposition to measure the effect of logistics development level on economic growth..The results show that there are only one co-integration relation between logistics development and economic growth, denote there are stable long term equipoise between them. The co-integration equation proved the prominent influence and lower contribution of logistics fixed capital investment on economic growth. In the short time, the transportation infrastructure facilities and economic growth is negative correlative; in the long time, the transportation infrastructure facilities and economic growth is positive correlative. Besides, the unreasonable structure of logistics employees hampers logistics development and economic growth severely.At last, This paper combined the empirical conclusion , made suggestion of accelerating Hunan logistics industry for its present situation and existing problems.
