Abstract


As an ancient country with 5,000 years history, China presents its colorful civilization at all times. Owing to the contribution from 55 ethnic minorities, China has become a splendid country with abundant cultural heritage. The intangible cultural heritage is so unique that it is the manifestations of national characteristics and national spirit, the vital symbol distinguishing different ethnic minorities, the illustration of the diversity of world’s culture and the important component of human civilization. Therefore, it is of significance to protect the intangible cultural heritage.With the acceleration of modernization, however, people starts to put more attention to material development, neglecting the protection of intangible cultural heritage in ethnic minorities regions result in a series of problems of the insumeiency of law, shortage of benefits, mismanagement and lack of protection. In the view of writer, the main reason is government think highly of exploitation while underrate protection and lacking bounden duty. Therefore, we must put government as the leading role into great play in the aspect protect intangible cultural heritage in ethnic minorities regions. Accordingly, the attention to the intangible cultural heritage has declined. Moreover, this change causes the shortage of funds, poor management, protection and other problems in protecting intangible cultural heritage. Hence, we should try our every effort to rescue and protect intangible cultural heritage, which will strengthen the communication between the various nations, enhance the cohesion of people, and safeguard unity, stability and harmony in our country. It is also beneficial to enrich the diversity of Chinese culture, promote the potential capability of comprehensive national strength and competitive power of our country, making good use of intangible cultural heritage could motivate all-round development of human being too.Based on a range of previous research, this thesis summaries the connotation and classification of ethic-minority intangible cultural heritage. By applying the related theories, this thesis makes a conclusion of the experience of Japan, Korea, France and other foreign countries in protecting their intangible cultural heritage, analyzes the problems of the protection in ethnic minority areas and proposes solutions to the corresponding problems. The author believes that the government should play its leading role, about the protection of intangible cultural heritage in ethnic areas, in improving the legal protection of intangible cultural heritage, increasing funding sources to protect intangible cultural, adhering to moderately development, training successors of Intangible cultural heritage, encouraging private to protect intangible cultural heritage and strengthening related theoretical study and experts ranks
