Abstract

Objective: ovarian cancer is one of the common cancer of the female reproductive system, epithelial tumor is the most common ovarian tumor, accounting for 50% and 70% of primary ovarian tumors, ovarian malignancy from 85% to 90%. Ovarian cancer is more common in middle-aged women with occult onset, early diagnosis is difficult, high mortality. In recent years, the use of transvaginal color ultrasound, serum CA125 determination and tumor cells cytoreductive surgery platinum plus paclitaxel chemotherapy has become the early diagnosis and effective treatment of ovarian cancer. However, because the surgery is difficult to cut a huge net and comprehensive chemotherapy side effects, advanced ovarian cancer five-year survival rate is still very low. Seeking new methods for the treatment of ovarian cancer, first to clarify the mechanism of tumorigenesis. Tumorigenesis and development is closely related to the body's immune system T-cells in the body's immune response to tumor cells at the center position, if we can mobilize the body's immune system, it would be the most effective and safest eliminate tumor way. T cell activation depends on the dual-signal: First, the antigenic peptide-MHC complexes, recognition by the T cell receptor (T Cells Receptor, TCR); the two costimulatory signal (of Co.-stimulating Signal). Therefore, costimulatory molecules start of the immune system is very important. B7-H4 is the latest discovery of B7 family members, significantly inhibited T-cell activation and function. , B7-H4 expression in epithelial ovarian tumors reported little of this research will clear correlation between the B7-H4 expression in epithelial ovarian tumors and various clinicopathological variables and to explore its role in the process of epithelial ovarian tumor, and strive to explore new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian tumors. Methods: Using immunohistochemistry staining B7-H4 expression in 90 cases of epithelial ovarian tumors, including serous adenocarcinoma in 23 cases, eight cases of borderline serous cystadenoma, serous cystadenoma 18 cases, 10 cases of mucinous cystadenocarcinoma, six cases of borderline mucinous cystadenoma, mucinous cystadenoma 11 cases, 6 cases of endometrial carcinoma and clear cell carcinoma of eight cases. Data obtained application SPSS17.0 statistical analysis software to analyze B7-H4 expression with histological type, histological grade, surgical - pathologic stage, age correlation. Results: 1 microscope B7-H4 positive expression was mainly localized in the tumor cell cytoplasm and / or cell membrane. 2 B7-H4 in ovarian cancer tissues, the positive expression rate was 76.6% (36/47), which expression in serous adenocarcinoma was 95.7% (22/23); expression in endometrial cancer rate of 100% (6/6); expression in clear cell carcinoma was 87.5% (7/8), the mucinous cystadenocarcinoma expression was only 10% (1/10), the difference was statistically significance (P lt; 0.001). 3 B7-H4 positive expression rate of ovarian cancer was significantly higher than that of borderline tumors (28.6%, 4/14) and benign tumors (24.1%, 7/29), the difference was statistically significant (P lt; 0.001). B7-H4 expression with histological grade in ovarian cancer tissue, surgical - pathologic stage and age were not correlated. Conclusions: B7-H4 in ovarian cancer, high expression, and expression was significantly higher than in borderline tumors and benign expression and, therefore, as a new ovarian cancer diagnostic indicators closed B7-H4 ovarian cancer may become new strategy for immunotherapy.
