Abstract

Objective To study the hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), adjacent tissues and chronic liver diseases (CLDs) AXL and Prostasin tissue protein levels and its clinical pathological significance. Method to collect Hepatobiliary Surgery, Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, January 2001 to 2006 12 menstrual surgical resection of primary liver cancer and pathology specimens of 50 patients (preoperative none of chemotherapy and radiotherapy), 25 cases of cancer adjacent tissues ( away from cancer ≥ 3cm) and the Center for Liver Diseases Liver biopsy CLDs66 specimens, 10% formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded serial sections, AXL and Prostasin protein staining method EnVision immunohistochemical method results (1) HCC AXL expression the CLDs and cancer of various types were significantly higher than the adjacent tissues (P lt; 0.05 or P lt; 0.01): HCC in Prostasin expression positive rate was significantly lower than the adjacent tissues mild chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and moderate CHB (P lt; 0.01), HCC in Prostasin express positive rate of less than severe CHB, cirrhosis and hepatitis nonspecific, but there was no significant difference (P gt; 0.05). (2) organizations and chronic liver disease in the next cancer AXL expression positive rate with the the G grading and the S stage increased gradually increased, are significant or highly significant difference (P lt; 0.05 or P lt; 0.01); adjacent tissues and chronic liver disease in Prostasin expression positive rate with the the G grading and the S stage increased gradually decreased, but there was no significant difference;, G4 and S4 cases AXL expression were significantly higher than in cases of G1 and S1, but Prostasin expression positive rate, by contrast, there were significant or highly significant difference (P lt; 0.05 or P lt; 0.01). (3) high school division, cirrhosis, no extrahepatic metastasis and no tumor thrombus cases AXL expression positive rate was significantly lower than the poorly differentiated, cirrhosis, extrahepatic metastasis and the tumor thrombi cases (P lt; 0.05); differentiated high ten without extrahepatic metastasis and no tumor thrombus cases Prostasin expression were significantly higher than poorly differentiated, extrahepatic metastasis the tumor thrombi cases (P lt; 0.05). (4) AXL, and Prostasin protein expression in HCC was without (χ2 = 7.22, P lt; 0.01). Conclusion 1 protein AXL in most HCC tissue was highly expressed in the of most paraneoplastic organizations and CLDs showed low expression of adjacent tissues and CLDs in the AXL expression of positive rate with the the G grading and the S stage increased gradually increased, suggesting that AXL of HCC and the development of CLDs is closely related. 2, Prostasin protein part of the HCC tissues showed low expression in the of most paraneoplastic organizations and CLDs showed high expression, and adjacent tissues, and the CLDs middle Prostasin expression positive rate with the the G grading and the S stage increased gradually reduced , prompt Prostasin may suppression of HCC and the development of CLDs. 3, AXL, and Prostasin the expression the opposite two with the degree of differentiation of HCC, extrahepatic metastasis and tumor thrombus is closely related. 4, AXL and Prostasin of expression in HCC was inconsistent, suggesting that both play an important role in the regulation HCC malignant epithelial - mesenchymal transition (EMT) process
