Abstract

Bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC) is the most common malignant tumor of urinary tract, as with other malignancies, with invasion and metastasis properties. Metastasis-related genes (Mta-1) was discovered in recent years with new genes associated with tumor metastasis group, the expression level of human and mouse breast cancer cell lines was positively correlated with metastatic ability. Tumor angiogenesis is necessary for invasion and metastasis of tumor cells secreted during the growth of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is considered to stimulate the proliferation of endothelial cells is one of the most important factors, with other solid tumors, VEGF in bladder cancer was also highly expressed, and it is the occurrence of bladder cancer and metastatic process plays an important role, as a measure of bladder cancer metastasis and prognosis of an independent indicator. Objective: To study bladder transitional cell carcinoma (BTCC) in metastasis-related genes (Mta-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression analysis with BTCC clinical stage, histological grade, metastasis and recurrence relations, and explore its possible molecular mechanism for bladder transitional cell carcinoma of the clinical diagnosis and gene therapy offers a new way. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect 40 cases of BTCC tissues and 10 cases of normal bladder tissue metastasis-related genes (Mta-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression; analysis Mta-1 and BTCC grading, staging, invasion and metastasis and the relationship between relapse and Mta-1 and VEGF expression correlation. Results: BTCC in Mta-1 protein expression was 70.0% (28/40), no case of normal bladder tissue expression, P lt; 0.01; Mta-1 protein expression positive rate with clinical stage and histological grade BTCC elevated with increasing tumor recurrence group (100%, 13/13) than the early onset group (55.6%, 15/27), tumor metastasis group (100.0%, 10/10) than those without metastasis group (60.0%, 18 / 30) (P lt; 0.05). BTCC tissues VEGF positive rate with elevated tumor clinical stage and recurrence, metastasis and elevated; BTCC tissues and normal bladder tissue VEGF positive rate was 52.5% (21/40) and 10.0% (1 / 10), BTCC group was significantly higher than the control group (P lt; 0.05). BTCC VEGF protein expression and Mta-1 expression was positively correlated (rs = 0.762, P lt; 0.05). Conclusion: Mta-1 is highly expressed in the BTCC, and with the clinical stage and pathological grade increased with increasing tumor metastasis and recurrence are closely related. VEGF were also highly expressed in the BTCC, and with the clinical stage and increased with increasing tumor metastasis and recurrence are closely related. Mta-1 in BTCC invasion and metastasis, may be associated with increased expression of VEGF protein, promotes tumor angiogenesis.
