Abstract

This article aims to reveal the use of Internet chat rooms in English language domain of network language features. The Internet is the twentieth century 's greatest inventions of mankind , it affects every aspect of people's lives , which influence the language is extremely significant . Language revolution brought new language variants produced , network language that is active in the online world of the new language that forms in Internet chat rooms has been fully developed and embodied . Language domain theory is the core content is determined by its use of language context in which decisions. Network language has its own special language courses, language style and tenor features. First, people in the virtual community exchanges, such exchanges across time and space constraints , but the topic of the chat room is always unstable. In this real-time chat, conversation interspersed with interrupts occur frequently . Secondly, chat room exchanges only through the keyboard language, some of the specific network linguistic signs appear to make up the lack of non-verbal actions chatroom exchanges defects. Internet language also both spoken and written language features. Again , people in virtual communities anonymous exchanges, most participants are easy to accept new things young people. Internet language is a new research topic , its systematic study , analysis is also adapt to the urgent need for the development of Internet language . The purpose of this article is based on the use of social linguistics language domain theory, the language field, style , tenor three aspects of Internet chat rooms in the performance characteristics of network language analysis and research , and the development of Internet language provided forecasts , hoping for people to fully understand the language and norms networks provide some reference value. In order to objectively reflect the real characteristics of Internet language language domain , the author of famous sites ICQ and Yahoo chat rooms to download more than a dozen dialogue as a corpus , the use of the language domain Halliday theory inductive analysis . Linguistic phenomena in the network during the debate , supporting and opposing coexist. This study shows that Internet language is a language variant , its presence does not alter the general trend of the development of language standardization . After a screening of survival of the fittest , network language will definitely moving in a healthy direction.
