Abstract


From the aspect of artistic creation, the text of Thunderstorm: was analyzed, revealing aesthetic effect of the appealability of the prototype, heartquake by dramatic conflicts, and emotional expansionary force from the discourse of this spoken drama. These invariable artistic attractions arouse acceptance subjects to make further exploration. The appeals to aesthetic value of Thunderstorm are greatly influenced by the aesthetic habit of the Chinese people who show biased interest in realism with regard to culture and art. Hereby, the variations of the theme of Thunderstorm result from the different understandings under the different backgrounds of the times in terms of audience’s psychology, aesthetic inclination of critics and the value pursuit of the subjects of the media. It is believed that two issues are involved in the creation of literature and the process of acceptance. Firstly, as for the relationship of the variable and invariable value of artistic creation, there is a reasonable and effective distribution of the two for an excellent play so as to satisfy the aesthetic appreciation of the audience of different levels. Secondly, as for the perceptive respect, there is historical variability for readers and audience to get writer’s intention to different degrees under different contexts. The media, as a carrier of culture, are more sensitive to audience’s appeal than writers and the new forms and concept of media can not only produce new mechanism and approaches of literary creation, but also determine the perceptive angles of the text reading and the variation of the theme. Thunderstorm is regarded as a drama of social problem under the context of Left-wing culture, a drama of class theme under the political context, a drama of human nature’s return under the context of the reform and open-door policy, and a drama of decoding and parody under the context of the mass culture, which is the result of the interaction between the goal of media and the audience’ appeals to the aesthetic value.
