Abstract


As a traditional sitcom drama derivative form loved by the public , but few scholars from the perspective of stylistics play its related research. Previous studies or focus on its generation mechanism of humor , or using the theoretical framework of the traditional stylistic analysis of phonological , syntactic and discourse levels of the various features , but rarely hit sitcom unique characteristics that humorous dialogue and distinctive role. This paper selects U.S. sitcom \Overall, Turn theory can effectively reveal the rights of individuals in the population relationships and behave as members of society , and the speech act theory , cooperative principle and politeness principle more suitable for analyzing the playwright 's characters through dialogue and personality. Studies have shown that between pragmatic principles and character are closely connected, language users are always intentionally or unintentionally choose to use their own set of rules of language features and pragmatic approach. We found that even with different theoretical and analytical methods for analysis of a particular character's personality can always get the same conclusion . That is, although the various theoretical assumptions and analyzes from different angles , they can reveal some of the basic rules of human communication . Therefore , we believe that a convincing dramatic stylistic theoretical framework should try to blend existing theories for understanding human verbal communication , in order to better appreciate the dramatic character of the shape .
