Abstract


In this paper, five novel JM Coetzee's Waiting for the Barbarians \In these five works, \of intentionally withheld, is often seen as a clash of civilizations fable, but the environment and circumstances in the novel through the multi-layered metaphors tend to point to the real context in South Africa. \Robinson said the representative image of the early European colonists, Daniel Defoe (Defoe) Robinson as a positive character shaping and praised Coetzee in the \The positive image.
