Abstract


Objective: To study cyclooxygenase -2 ( COX -2 ) protein expression in gastric cancer tissues explore the COX-2 protein in gastric cancer , the development of the role and relationship with pathological parameters . Methods: Using immunohistochemistry method (SP method) to detect the expression of COX-2 in 12 cases of normal gastric tissues and 40 cases of gastric carcinoma . Results: COX-2 expression in normal gastric tissue of 25% of the COX-2 expression in gastric carcinoma was 80 % , COX -2 expression in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher ( P lt ; O.05 ) . COX-2 expression in the III - IV gastric cancer was 96.55% , the expression of COX-2 I II gastric tissue ( P lt ; O.05 ) 63.64 % 96.43% ; lymph node metastasis of COX-2 expression , no COX-2 expression in lymph node metastasis was 66.67% (P lt; O.05). Conclusion : COX - 2 protein expression was correlated with TNM staging and lymph node metastasis , high expression of COX -2 may be involved in gastric carcinogenesis , invasion , metastasis and prognosis of gastric certain relationship .
