Abstract


\Therefore, in the foreign language teaching, reading is an extremely important part of it is an important way for the students to gain knowledge of foreign languages ??and skills. However, the teaching methods used in a long time English reading teaching still exist some problems, they affect students' reading ability. In view of this situation, this paper attempts to study the Schema Theory in English Reading Teaching in Higher Vocational. Read on to understand not only the process of the readers of the language, but also the process of readers' existing background knowledge, this view has been generally recognized by the academia. Language understanding process, the role of background knowledge describing schema theory. According to schema theory, the process of understanding a language material is the process of interaction between the reader's background knowledge and language materials (Carrell, Eisterhold, 1987:220). Schema theory emphasizes reading comprehension is happening in an interactive process between the reader and the text. By using the drawings, the reader can understand the relationship between various kinds of information, thereby further understand the potential information not mentioned in the text. Proponents of this view believe that readers acquire knowledge from reading activities determinant of their existing knowledge. Boot in this view, this paper is an experimental study carried out for the the Vocational English reading teaching. The paper consists of the following components: Introduction section explains the cause of the papers leads schema theory the importance of the use of in Vocational English reading teaching. Chapter major retrospective schema theory literature, discusses the definition of a schema, schema theory, the schema of three classifications: linguistic schemata ((linguistic schema) and content schemata (content schema), the form of Figure formula (rhetorical schema), the three schemata role in the process of reading comprehension and pointed; Schema Theory and Reading Comprehension relationship the second chapter, the purpose of the experiment, subjects, experimental procedures, steps, experimental materials. Describe the experimental group schema theory to guide the teaching of reading, the control group, the ordinary teaching of reading theory to guide the process of teaching and methods. third chapter proposes the significance of the trial Vocational English reading instruction and final conclusion. summarize the experimental results proposed experimental insufficient.
