Abstract


After the entering into WTO, China is playing more important role in the world to be the manufacturing center. Foreign owned companies have been establishing larger numbers of high volume manufacturing plants in order to introduce advanced technology and new products from other countries to China. Hereby, ensuring the success of new production line transfer is becoming more and more important and it needs to take place as quickly as possible, without disruptive quality issues, and with the highest possible yield.This thesis describes the Copy Exactly Methodology and the increase in Production transfer performance that it has brought about, based on author’s experience in YT Semiconductor Company. The methodology is working in YT semiconductor company overall manufacturing strategy to fasten mass production from one R&D centre to a lot of manufacturing factories in different countries or from one factory to the others. The methodology works through copying 100% same input variables and process variables, to achieve 100% same output variables and ensure the high volume manufacturing startup in very quick manner with high quality. Author also tries to probe the benefit and issue of this methodology, and introduce the Change Control System to eliminate those issues. The thesis aims to bring some beneficial ideas to semiconductor, high technology and advanced manufacturing industry for production line transfer.
