Abstract


Subtitles Translation language as a kind of cross-cultural communication mode has become the hot issues of the relevant research in the field of cross-cultural communication from the practice of translation or perspective of deep-seated extraordinarily necessary to explore the subtitles and its translation . This article Subtitle Translation of English movie \The associated theory seeks to highlight the communicative activities with intent to convey and understand their reasoning , and therefore asked the intent of the original should be should as much as possible to convey to the communication objects and the the communicative object processing and understanding information efforts should be as minimum as possible to . The the subtitle translation process , the translator first and original author to reach a consensus on the psychological and cognitive grasp the original intent and related information ; Then , the translator must take into account the cognitive abilities and expectations of the target language audience , based on two mastery of language usage , as well as in-depth understanding of the particularity of the language and culture , according to the characteristics of subtitle translation take appropriate translation strategies , and the flexibility to convey information to obtain the best correlation of subtitles and full contextual effects . Finally, the target language audience to the subtitles with minimal effort to fully understand and appreciate the film . This paper attempts to Sperber and Wilson 's Relevance Theory and Gutt 's language translation theory , indicate , demonstration and illustrative of the English film \subtitles translate practice in order to provide a reference on the theory and methods . The paper first reviews the related theory , translation theory, subtitle translation theory and Relevance Theory as a guide in the movie \Transcribed from the movie \Translator three translation strategies Relevance Theory , so the film the Chinese translation subtitles build a best context , produce the best correlation with minimal effort to make the audience have a full understanding of the whole story . This article proposes a new channel guiding subtitle translation practice , so that under the guidance of the principle of effective strategies , subtitles can give the audience the best of the story presented
