Since the founding, facing the different situation and tasks in the various historical periods ,the the Chinese Communist Party’s understanding of the role and social status of intellectuals are subject to change, the policy of intellectuals they implemented are different, leading to different manifestation of social status.The early days, our country was facing a rapid economic recovery, consolidating the new people’s regime, developing culture and speeding up the arduous task of social progress, the few intellectuals are "national treasure", much national attention, after a period of education and after the transformation, they were identified as "part of the working class". Entering a period of building socialism, the socialist construction of the large-scale needs to be more intellectuals, but because of domestic and international situation determined the party’s mistakes, intellectuals were put on the "bourgeois" hat, a large proportion of them wrongly classified as Right by the criticism and attack the social status of intellectuals began to decline. During the "Cultural Revolution" years, in the "Left" mistakes thought, the class struggle as the central task of society at that time, "bourgeois intellectuals" has become a "revolution" and the dictator ship of the object, the social status of intellectuals seriously declined.
