Abstract


Context in the field of linguistics has attracted a lot of interest. Malinowski in 1923, first proposed the theory of context, many scholars since studies of context, the foreign Firth (1957), Lyons (1977) and Leach (1981), domestic Hu Zhuanglin ( 1994), He Zhaoxiong (2000), and the like. This study describes a different view, and in reference and research of scholars on the basis of the analysis above, the context into linguistic context and non-linguistic context. However, they have not investigated by experimental studies in the context of the discourse functional perspective. So, their research there are still some limitations. This research attempts to improve students' reading ability and reading level through the practical application of discourse functional perspective in the context of in college English reading teaching. Need to be clear in this regard, the experiment following question: 1. Ability to stimulate the enthusiasm of the students 'reading teaching reading by the context of the discourse function perspective? 2. Ability to improve students' reading teaching through the context of discourse functional perspective reading ability? writer according to the survey of non-English majors freshman year undergraduate students, learned that they exist in reading most of the problems are related to the context of the discourse functional perspective. Therefore, we proposed two hypotheses whether the application of the theory of context in the perspective of the discourse function to improve students' reading ability and teaching experiment to test which hypothesis is correct. After SPSS (13.0) System software (single-sample t-test and paired samples t-test), the experimental data processing, analysis, results show that the discourse functional perspective in the context of teaching model to improve the experimental class students English reading ability plays a key role. In short, in the context of the discourse functional perspective under the guidance of English reading teaching mode can stimulate students 'interest in learning, improve students' English reading skills, expand their reading strategies, cultivate good reading habits for college English reading teaching The method used for reference. In this study, however, there are certain inadequacies: Since the author is the first attempt to experiment discourse functional perspective in the context of college English reading teaching, the conclusion is only suggested. In addition, the existing research is only a static context discourse function perspective, and did not examine the dynamic context in college English reading teaching, pending further study.
