Abstract


Oral fluency is spoken proficiency is an important manifestation of the current fluency is usually the time variable for the determination of indicators, such as speech rate, pause duration, speech flow length. Psycholinguistic research shows: people's memories are stored in a large number of procedural language, also known as chunks, they are composed by a number of words, syntactic function itself can be used as general storage and retrieval. Such procedural language is the key to fluent speech production. Thus, the teaching focus chunks for learners to improve oral fluency great benefit. Psycholinguistic study abroad are equally concerned recited at the important role of language acquisition, these findings re-evokes repeated (repetition) in second language learning plays a key role in the reflection. However, with regard to the use of oral recitation and imitation classroom approach to language teaching little research block. This study was designed to study how to memorize chunks to improve teaching and imitation second language learners fluency. The author recalled abroad on second language fluency Research, focused on the output of the second language psycholinguistic mechanisms, noting that oral language fluency is the key to automated processing in the brain, as well as prefabricated chunks of language units in the language automated extraction output. This study presents the following assumptions: the imitation of the Chinese learner to recite familiar with the traditional method of classroom blocks for language, can well improve learners oral fluency. I suppose the same time for the empirical study carried out to test memorizing and imitation Chunk classroom for the second language learners oral fluency development. Chengdu University of Engineering and Technology, Department of English second-year students in two classes participated in the experiment, the time for 15 weeks. The author in the experimental class pedagogy used to recite and imitation chunk basis. Speaking after the experiment carried out two tests measuring verbal fluency considering the complexity and the limited length of the experiment, the author in two classes were randomly selected 15 students as subjects, the subjects recorded oral statements . Recording text used to analyze the development of learners' oral fluency condition. The author mainly through three types of fluency index (temporal indicator, language indicator, expressing indicators) to measure oral fluency. The results show that: Compared with the control group of subjects in the experimental group subjects of oral fluency improved more obvious. The results show that chunk of recitation and imitation to some extent second language learners can promote the development of oral fluency. This study combines automated processing and language learners ability to use these block a key factor in oral fluency of recitation and imitation chunk in teaching made a preliminary attempt, hoping to learn spoken language teaching and language spoken inspired.
