Abstract


The coherent discourse analysis of the most complex , the most important one , it has become one of the focal issues in the past two decades discourse analysis were researched in recent years in the ascendant . The famous British linguist Halliday cohesion theory including lexical cohesion and structural convergence of two parts . Coherent research mainly rely on the discourse external convergence means , this analysis is the dominant language as the basis of language or static finished . Discourse is in the process of the use of language , it can not be divorced from the actual process of language use both sides of communication interaction . In other words , discourse is a dynamic process. Langacker 's concept of discourse analysis the following two points: the continuity of the chapter in the language units , dynamic analysis and discourse expectations. Cognitive Grammar for discourse coherence with wizard- cognitive theory and abstract does not have operational Therefore, the authors propose a comprehensive discourse coherent analytical framework : Bridging theory and cognitive combined analysis of discourse coherence . In order to verify the feasibility of the theory , the authors selected 20 essays for analysis. Object of Taiyuan University of Technology English professional third-year undergraduate random sample of 47 students , asking them to \20 essays , the author based on Halliday Hasan convergence of theoretical analysis and cognitive grammar theory from chapter in convergence and continuity of language units , dynamic analysis and discourse expectations on student writing analysis, to study that students ' writing chapter of the continuity . The results show that the score essay better use of cohesive devices . Also pointed out that the text coherence should follow Langacker 's theory of Cognitive Grammar . To ensure Coherence , it is necessary to make the chapter to participate in both the cognitive process dynamic analysis of consciousness . Chapter in the language before and after the unit has a certain continuity , and the pages of a chapter participants look forward to converge , then the chapter participants in the psychological perception can be mutually manifest , then the chapter is coherent . Finally, the paper found in this study can play a positive role in English teaching .
