Abstract


The once glorious ancient collection of buildings, is a wonderful world civilization, playing a great role to save the books, the tradition of Chinese civilization. With the change in the nature of Chinese society, the feudal culture and a serious decline, the gradual rise of the thought of learning Western science and culture. The Ancient Library has no longer adapted to the needs of social development. Feudal economy based on the Ancient Library, and therefore lost the aura of the past and decline, but it has laid a solid material foundation for the generation of Chinese Modern Library. Western missionaries in western learning process, act as a medium of cultural exchanges between the East and the West. Their original intention to China to spread the gospel of God, propagating Christianity, but for the first time in China the missionaries plans ended in failure. Partly because Chinese people do not accept the missionaries; Only Confucianism \Summing up the lessons of failure missionary, missionaries changed strategy, to replace direct missionary propaganda of Western science and technology and cultural content, which caused great interest of the Chinese people and Western culture gradually penetrate into China. In this process, the Western missionaries translation, writing books library ideological enlightenment: the introduction of Western literature in China opened a new library. To run a library open thinking, focus on providing readers with the functions and the collections structure of diversification, the state-of-the-art library classification and cataloging gradually understood and accepted by the Chinese people. Western ideas of the Library in China is also gradually open, these are the generation of Chinese Modern Library has played the role of ideological enlightenment. Miss Wei Dihua run by colleges, Mandarin Library is the library school education has played an exemplary role. The China Modern Library is a product of Western thought and culture was introduced into China. Ancient Library existed in China for thousands of years, and deep-rooted ideas. Western missionaries twice China, it is not possible to simply single change, the change is the result of the interaction of internal and external factors. That the influence of Western missionaries are not isolated, it's Westernization, the reformers and advanced intellectuals, the Qing government and other factors affect each other in a different level, advancing each other, jointly merged into a Chinese library modernization The symphony, led to the generation of the Modern Library. Literature resource sharing, to explore the generation of the Modern Library, sum up and draw on the role of missionaries, and beneficial for the promotion of the library building and its modernization process.
