Abstract

Vocabulary teaching occupies an important position in the English second language teaching, vocabulary teaching has been in a subordinate position, but due to the impact of traditional linguistics. In recent years, to psycholinguistics development, vocabulary teaching and research once again become the focus of English Second Language Teaching and Research. In this paper, a hot issue in psycholinguistics - mental lexicon (including the first language and second language), describes and analyzes the development of the first language composition of the mental lexicon and extraction and the second language mental lexicon reveals vocabulary the nature and vocabulary acquisition and vocabulary learning and teaching the nature of the different stages of development of second language vocabulary should take different vocabulary learning and teaching techniques and strategies. \Studies have shown that the first language mental lexicon word of the rules stored in the form of roots and affixes, irregular word is stored in the form of the whole word. Mental lexicon was the distribution network in the permanent memory of the brain form a Semantic Web, semantic web is full of nodes, a node corresponds to a concept or its corresponding concept name - word, different nodes are connected to each other, a node activation will promote the activation of other nodes, the stronger the closer the node activation. The concept of active nodes can be extracted from the mental lexicon concept or corresponding name - word. The mental lexicon extraction is an important step for language understanding and output, the main factors affecting lexical word frequency effect, context effect, the effect of vocabulary and semantic effect. To explain these effects, there has been a wide variety of word retrieval model, which Morton (1969) proposed the vocabulary of the strongest explanatory power of the model and Marslen-Wilson et al (1987, 1990), cross-share model. The former is mainly used to explain the visual vocabulary extraction, the extraction of the latter is mainly used for the interpretation of the auditory vocabulary. The word occurs models the word extracted by the word active to the extent of a certain threshold value, each word has its word generator is used to record the number of features shared by the term and sensory stimuli, when the number of shared characteristic reaches a certain threshold, vocabulary generator will inspire the corresponding word. Cohort model and vocabulary model lexical same basic hypothesis, but it is mainly used for the interpretation of auditory word recognition. The Cohort model that auditory word identification can be divided into three steps: the first step, when we hear a word, it's all voice neighbors is activated, the beginning of the collection of words that the word Cohort; The second step, rapid identification, word of 200-300 milliseconds finished
