At present, hot-dip galvanizing is one technology which is extensively using in steel wire toanti-corrosion. Hot-dip Galfan alloy by gas reduction method has some advantages such asenvironmental protection, energy saving, good anticorrosion property, the coating adhesion, etc.Steel wire has some requirement such as long-term rust, reducing maintenance frequency. Theprocess complies with all of them. So it is a good galvanizing method instead of traditionalsolvent method. But most domestic galvanized steel wire enterprises have some problem. Theirequipments are too old to meet the technological requirements. They don’t have enough moneyto introduce foreign expensive advanced production equipment and technology. Their automationresearch force is too weak to develop suitable automation equipment. Aiming at this condition,this paper research on the key technologies of automatic steel wire galvanizing production linebased on gas reduction method, and solve automation equipment control problem of galvanizedenterprise. Ensure the advanced galvanization technology can be promoted.In this paper, it uses Siemens S7-300 PLC as the central controller of steel wire galvanizingauto-control system. It combines PROFIBUS technology, realizing real-time communicationamong industrial field equipment, PC monitoring system and PLC control system. At last, it usesadvanced Wincc software to develop graphical PC monitoring system. This system not onlyrealize precise control of production parameter such as the speed of galvanized steel wire, thestove temperature, zinc pot temperature, galvanizing layer, steel wire collecting and releasing,but also collect and storage real-time data such as temperature and speed. Moreover it supportsthe database analysis and report output through PC monitoring system.In this paper, firstly, it discusses principle and the communication protocol of PLCcontroller and PROFIBUS, and analysis charged amount, such as the production control responsetime, stability, the amount and type of I/O, etc. According to this, it proposes a solution thatusing PLC control as the core, PC monitor for auxiliary, PROFIBUS realize communication.Then select the appropriate PLC module hardware configuration, and write procedures controlsystem procedures using ladder-diagram programming. Finally it realizes PC monitoring systemconfiguration with Wincc. This paper completes hardware design of automatic control system ofgalvanized steel wire production equipment based on gas reduction method, uses ladder diagramlanguage to write software programming, configures a simple graphical monitoring system, andalso gives the hardware hookup and program control flow chart in detail.
